I took the ET2 up to Vermont this past week, and put about a hundred miles on the odometer. The weather wasn’t really conductive to scooter riding, but the one day I got out was a blast. Scootering is a great way to get around up there. My favorite moment was when I was filling up at a gas station and a woman asked me, “What is that thing?” and I told her what it was. Next question: “Does it run on gas?”

While up there my brother Bob put the Sito+ exhaust on for me. Thankfully I didn’t go with the original plan of doing it myself. Bob had to wrestle and bang it into place, since the top bolts were about a half inch out of alignment.

I debated about getting the Leo Vince pipe which is on sale at Scooterwest.com, but I really like the stock look of the Sito. The only visual difference is the SitoPlus logo embossed in the chrome. I’ll let you know how it works out. Next upgrade: changing the variator weights for better acceleration.

Speaking of upgrades, I’m starting to change my mind about the deal on the canvas Vespa bag (see previous entry). A few days of use and the straps are already ripping. I’m going to order leather toe straps from Rivendell. Or maybe I’ll save a few bucks and order these from Nashbar iconinstead.

Please let me know how you like the Sito Pipe, and did you change your variator weights, if so what did you go from and what did you go to?
    Thanks
