They’re heeeere! Two awesome jackets from Tourmaster
Published by Soozn June 28th, 2007 in scooters. The two Tourmaster Jackets (Indigo & Trinity) I wrote about on my last post arrived. Not only is the sizing chart on target– they fit like regular clothes… With the liner, both are a bit snug, but not too tight. They do not feel like I am in a mobile textile mammogram the way some jackets make me feel.
The Trinity is made of a waterproof material so it’s good for riding in wet weather. With our dry climate in Colorado, I will have little opportunity to test that feature unless I am caught in one of our torrential summer afternoon downpours which I try to avoid. It has adjustable Velcro straps on the arms and back so you can customize the fit. The Trinity with the liner in it will be really comfy for cold weather riding.
Both of these jackets have lots of great zippered inner pockets and hidden pockets along the seam for storing items when riding. They each come in sizes ranging from XS to Plus Large, so if you are one of those rare women
without the figure of a Parisian model, there is one to fit you!
The Denim jacket just rocks! I removed the liner for summer riding and it fits like a regular denim jacket. It is super comfy and makes me feel good when I wear it. It will definitely be my jacket of choice for riding from now on. You can find the Indigo Denim at several online shops for less than $100 including shipping. Highly recommended.

LOL! “mobile textile mammogram”
I’m not much of a denim jacket fan, but I know a lot of people love this one because it looks more like regular clothes and not a typical motorcycle jacket. I’m glad you love your new purchases.

Crystal– the one thing the denim jacket could really use is some reflective piping. the Trinity has a reflective badge/logo in the back as well as piping. The Denim might not be the best choice for night riding.
Know any good sources for Plus Size jackets, riding clothes, etc? I’m a 22/24 and I can’t seem to find anything above a 14/16. I hate to resort to ordering a Men’s jacket but that seems to be all I can find right now.
Ideally I’d get the extra weight off and have more options, but right now that’s easier said than done!

Julie- according to the Tourmaster website an XL is the equivalent of a 14. These jackets also come in Plus Small, Plus Medium & Plus Large. So I wonder if the Plus Large would be a 20 or 22?
Marilou from the Vino125 Girls forum said that the person over at the tourmaster website she spoke to was really helpful in guiding her with sizes.
I found this weblink as a reference for several womens motorcycle apparel shops
http://www.webbikeworld.com/women-motorcycle-clothing/
this site in particular carries some larger sizes

Somebody’s selling the Trinity jacket in Medium on eBay. If I could fit into a Medium, I’d be all over this deal. As I write this, the auction ends in 1 day and 17 hours, and there are no bids as of yet. Opening bid is $40.00. If nobody buys this jacket, I’ll feel vicarious disappointment.

I’m a Big Girl too. The only brands of jackets that fit me are Cortech and Power Trip. Does *anyone* make women’s size 18-20 pants?

I am having some serious motorcycle jacket lust right now for that light blue Trinity. Mmmm, but I can’t justify getting rid of my perfectly serviceable (and incredibly visible) bumblebee yellow Tourmaster something-or-other.
Louise, why get rid of your yellow Tourmaster? Wear it when you’re feeling like a yellow jacket (no pun intended), or when you need to be particularly visible, and wear the Trinity when you’re feeling like sky blue.
Denise,
I live full-time in a 39-ft. motorhome. The first rule of survival in such a small space is Thou Shall Not Have Duplicates of Anything, especially bulky armoured motorcycle jackets! So, any time I get something new, something old must go.
The good news is that after living this way for a couple of years, I rarely want anything new. I’ve already pared things down to my favorites. But occasionally something as tasty as the Trinity comes along. Of course, I have a yellow and black helmet, so a new jacket might mean needing a new helmet and I like the VOX modular helmet in blue (matches my bike, doncha know)…
Wow, a minimalist existence! Sounds interesting as heck. My GF talks about wanting to live in a motorhome — I just found you blog and will have to pass the link along to her.
I was looking at the VOX too, but didn’t think the VOX blue would match the Trinity blue.
I ended up ordering a Nolan modular in white, which of course will go with the Trinity, along with everything else.
Louise, how do you transport your scooter with the motorhome?
I tried to post an answer here yesterday, but seem to be having trouble…
The short answer is that our motorhome is a converted bus with HUGE luggage bays and the bikes fit inside one of the bays. If you go to our blog (follow link on my name) there is a photo of the bikes in their traveling “garage.” Thanks for asking!
Louise, after I posted that question, I read your site and your blog, and was highly impressed. In fact, I sent the link to my partner as possible inspiration for a few years from now.
I wear a roadgear jacket and pants. My jacket is for summer with all the protective features. It is also partly mesh. It dose come with a liner that you can put in for rain. The pants are for light weight summer riding. They have zippers that run down the sides for easy on and over boots. Protection in the knees. They are waterproof also. My husband and I also own a ste of Frog Togs for rain. They are real light weight and are breathable and waterproof. They do not take up much space. If it is cold out then we just put on the rain coat over the jacket then we are not carrying extra items. We travel every summer on the motorcycles and so space is a problem. I ride a 650 Burgman and my husband rides a BMW R1150RT. Road gear makes womens clothes and mens also. But we also ride two up on his so we have to pack light as well as space is a must. Here is the website and phone for roadgear. http://www.roadgear.com and 1-800-854-4327. The names of what we wear are Air Teck Mesh. And pants are Tierra Del Fuego Pant/Overpant. I really enjoy your site. Is there a way to join? One more thought. I love my tank bag that is made for the Reflex and Silverwing. It dose fit my burgman. I had a Honda Reflex before the Burgman and I would not use another tank bag but his.
