spring for a new scooter

vnlx_grn2.jpgI’m honestly not in the market for a new scooter, but I might just have to change my mind. This morning I got a coupon in my email for $700 off a TN’G Venice LX, and $1,400 off a TN’G DR 150cc. That translates to $895 for the Venice (reg $1,595) and $995 for the DR (reg $2,395). Want the coupon? Sign up here and get one while they last.

redbuddy.jpgGenuine announced tidbits about its 2007 line - including, according to the web site, these improvements to the Buddy 125: “BuddyBrite” halogen lighting, LED rear lighting, on-board cell phone chargers, and the addition of emergency flashers. They’re also adding a bright red model to the line up. No word on availability. MSRPs are $1,899 (50cc), $2,599 (125cc), and $2,699 (125cc Italia; the olive green model).

Oh, and Argo USA (formerly Bajaj) is rolling its scooters off the line now. Models include the 150cc AR150-18 and 150cc AR150-2.

Great find! Very tempting. I am sending the TNG promo link to friends who are interested in getting into scooters. The only probably I have with TNG Venice is not enough room for my big feet. I think the DR is the better deal, since we all know that most people need more power than a 50cc gives unless you just want to drive around your immediate neighborhood. Maybe Genuine/Buddy will have a similar promotion to compete?

The red and olive Buddies are in stock at the San Francisco Scooter Centre — I saw ‘em there this morning and they’re gorgeous!

Jeez! Under 1000??? But a couple. :-D Now if only my little Buddy would go on sale for under 1000 hehehe

Looks like a good deal to me! Do you happen to have the coupon saved for this promotion. When I signed up the dr150 was not on the pdf file only the lx model. If you could email it to me that would be great! Thanks for the great website!

Thanks you Very much that link works perfect. The only issue I have now is that I called all the TNG dealers around Ohio and surrounding states and none of them have the darn dr150. If anyone else has any luck finding a few of them please post. Thanks

I am looking to buy a new scooter very soon, like yesterday….but I just read stats on over 100 scooters and I’m more confused than ever. I loved the style of my Metrolitan, but I think I want to go just a little faster. I want something that will last, with a good reputation, that I can have worked on locally if necessary, and that will have parts available for a long time to come. My budget is under 3k, so I can’t get a Vespa. can anyone offer some recommendations? I’m worried about trying an unknown brand, and I’m only familiar with Honda, Yamaha, vespa, brands.

Serenity, have you considered a used Vespa? if that’s the style you like, you can probably find one that is in your budget. Otherwise, you might try a Yamaha Vino 125.
