Sooznd comes to visit

Look who stopped by yesterday! One of the girlbike writers and Long Haul Riders, Susan. Better known as Sooznd or Soozn on numerous scooter forums, Susan hails from Colorado and will be flying out again to join us on the Long Haul and the Last Mile Ride. This was our first time meeting in person.
I was trying to remember how long I’ve known Susan, and I think it has to be pretty much ever since I’ve had a scooter. We both had 50cc scooters as our first ride; I had my Met and she had a Yamaha Vino Classic. You can see her past and current scoots here - she rides both a Vino 125 and a Met now.
If you spend any time on scooter forums, you’ve probably seen Susan there. She is active on Provoscooter.com, Vino 125, Vino 125 Girls, urbanscootin, and ScooterDiva.com and probably more. I asked her to join girlbike.com as a writer not long ago. She’s also a founding member of the Killer Bees Scooter Club.
Susan will be riding a borrowed Vino 125 on the Long Haul - thanks to Pascal, another of the Long Haul Riders, who arranged for Susan to borrow the scooter which is owned by one of his friends. And just by chance, the borrowed Vino 125 has all the same mods as Susan’s scooter at home. Only 38 more days ’til we head north!
So glad to see faces for your names. Seeing you both with the Vespa between you is a nice portrait, ladies! I’m glad you two are together and getting closer as your Long Haul ride gets closer. Have fun and ride safe.
Crystal seems to smile more in photos than she used to. Crystal is still “my best friend I’ve never met.” Very nice pic, gals. Crystal and Susan are the start of “Secrets of the Scooter Sisterhood.”
Yesterday was the first day we had without rain but it was almost 100 degrees, so the scooters stayed in the shed. It’s been weeks since we’ve taken them out. All that full-coverage insurance money is going to waste, LOL.

The trouble with not having met is that Lisa seems to think I’m bashful and don’t smile - but really, I’ve just been taking more photos without my helmet on lately!

I am not usually very photogenic, but admit this one of me isn’t bad… I think being so close to a Vespa brings out the best in me
It was fun meeting Crystal in person for the first time, even though we have been “virtual” friends since we both owned our first scooters.
