a sidestand that fits; new chrome rack

I didn’t want to say anything about this until I had a new sidestand in hand to check a theory. The sidestand I ordered from Scooter Parts Direct didn’t work unless I was on a slant, which basically made it useless if I wanted to park on flat ground (which really was the whole point, since I have trouble with the center stand). I couldn’t figure out why - did I install it incorrectly? Does everyone else simply always park on a slope? Is it a sign that I shouldn’t be riding this scooter? Maybe people install them but never use them?
Then I realized something. Even though the Buzzetti sidestand was labled for the Vespa ET2 and ET4, it wasn’t what was in the catalog photo at Scooter Parts Direct. I wrote to another vendor who carried the Faco sidestand and asked them to measure from the bolt to the bend in the sidestand foot - 21cm. I went outside and measured mine: 25cm. No wonder when I put it down, it leaned the bike over in the other direction!
I ordered a Faco sidestand from Scooterwest which got here today.
I wonder, if this is too big for the ET2 and ET4, what does it fit? Any ideas?

I also took off the stock rack and put on this chrome folding rack, also from Scooter Parts Direct. I wanted one with a backrest, but they were sold out (this one has a bolt-on option - maybe later). I like it because of the side grab rails. It’s not very conductive to using my GIVI trunk, though, so I’m still trying to figure out what I should do about luggage. Maybe some saddlebags?
