serious scooter withdrawal

I’ve been a little quiet lately, mostly because I’m suffering through the longest stretch without riding my scooter since I first got a scooter. We had record breaking heat in the 80s last week, but my scooter is in the shop so I missed my chance to ride. Then we got another round of ice and snow, which probably won’t be gone until at least the middle of this week. The pic above is the view from my studio window. It was taken yesterday, but it pretty much look the same today.
If you’re also suffering from serious scooter withdrawal, join me in checking out the many photo albums from some of the scooter rallies so far this year: High Rollers, Sandblast, and Vice City, to start. Send me links to more rides and rally pics if you know of more!

The warm spell in Ontario (Canada) was such that I was able to ride into early January this year! One would think that the longer than usual riding season would have made it easier to wait until the spring weather returns. However, a brief warm spell last week (and the $42.00 fill up on my SUV) got me itching to ride again. I even took the scoot out of storage. But it was not to be - the next day brought cold and more snow. So, here I sit (on my hands) waiting for the next warm spell. I can certainly sympathize.
Hey Crystal. One of the guys in the club had a “Scoot In” Theater last night in his backyard (Carrollton, TX) with a projector and a pretty large screen. It worked out really well, “Rocky Balboa”, then a cheesy ’50s scifi flick called “The Brain from Planet Arous” or something like that. Anyway, got my wife a slighty used scooter cheap, fixed it and here we are leaving the theater.

It’s pretty much year round riding here. Of course in the summer it’s kind of warm sometimes.
Crystal, I am interested in buying a bike-rode 20 years ago- for communting to and from work(30mile round trip)–any suggestions for beginner bike (5′9″–185 lbs) and need place to take a safety class–any suggestions.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Patricia
