moving home to Vermont

Well, guess what.
We’re moving home to Vermont. As I mentioned to some friends this morning, after living in Vermont, Boston, New York City, San Francisco, Austin, SF again, Vermont again, and now Maryland, maybe I’ll actually settle down for awhile. I’m really looking forward to being near family - my mom is 84 now, and all my siblings and their kids and their kids’ kids are all there. I’m also looking forward to lots of low-traffic roads. I’m not really looking forward to snow, but I’m trying to get myself geared back up for winter bicycle riding, which I haven’t done since we’ve moved down here. I’ll have to buy studded tires again!
I’m also looking forward to being a local member of the Vermont Scooter Club, not just a long-distance member. And I’ll get to finally meet some of the others in the club. Now I’ll be a long-distance member of my favorite group down here, dcscoots, who I highly recommend riding with if you’re in the area.
What am I not looking forward to? A shorter scooter riding season. Although last year, there was hardly any snow, so maybe the roads will stay clearer longer this year, too. Time to dig out the lap apron and neck warmer…

Fortunately, you have a job where you can live wherever you want!
Welcome back to New England! (We’re from RI here).
Well, Maryland’s loss is Vermont’s gain. Hope you are bringing Dwayne back with you, Crystal! I am sure the happiness of family time will offset the loss of seasonal ride time and you will soon find your heart knowing you were so right to relocate. Good luck with the move.
Aw, darn! I’m so sorry to lose you as a local pal. At least you’ll be easy to keep in touch with through your blog.
Crystal-
Vermont is truly beautiful & having family close by will make it even better. It seems like the right move for you & Dwayne.
Welcome home.
Good luck with the move. Best wishes for continued health and happiness to you and your immediate and extended family, as well as a mild winter.
Welcome home Aunt Crystal! Maybe now that you’ve moved back home we can go for a scooter ride next summer!
See ya around-Love Liza
But now you can teach me how to ride a bike! (middle child=no bike as a child. You’ve heard the stories before.)
