A car with better gas mileage than my scooter?
Published by Lesley February 27th, 2008 in news & gossip. The other night my husband sent me a link to this car, the Loremo, and it reminded me of the post Crystal did not long ago about the Tata Nano. It’s most definitely not as cheap as the very minimalist car offered by Tata Motors. This one goes for a whopping $22,000. That’s a far cry from the $2,500 of the Nano, but it gets up to 150 miles a gallon. My 50cc Metropolitan only gets about 100 MPG.
I am not sure how they can get that kind of gas mileage, but it’s impressive. The article talks about keeping the car down to as little weight and drag as possible. And talk about sexy! It looks like something straight out of Back to the Future. I always did want a DeLorean of my very own.
Alas, it is not to be because this little beauty, much like my much adored scooter, doesn’t have room for the kiddos on board. It doesn’t even have a back seat. I guess that is part of keeping the weight down to the minimum.
Besides the MSN article above, you can find out more info on these sites, too:

The genie is now out of the bottle and if the car companies won’t start making these cars right away, we as American citizens will.

Why are the car companies not making them? I have driven a 100mpg car for about a year now using wind energy. Last one.
