meet the metrochick founder

Just when you think things are safe, along comes another scooter email discussion list. Luckily, though, Lesley (shown here with her 2003 denim Metro and sparkly pink helmet) has the right idea: a civilized, safe environment for women in which to discuss scooters. I was happy to be the first person to sign up to be a MetroChick. Yes, guys can sign up too, and you don’t even need to own a Metro. It is required (or at least highly recommended), however, to lust after the pink Crea Scoopy, and appreciate accessories just as much as mechanicals. Lesley and her husband live in Northwest Arkansas, where she is studying creative writing at the University of Arkansas, and working as a Computer Lab Technician. “I’ve been scooting since last fall and LOVE it,” she writes. For fun, she writes, hikes, camps, plays video games, and, of course, scoots.
