Last Mile Ride report - over $15,000 raised for Gifford
Published by Crystal August 27th, 2007 in Long Haul to the Last Mile Ride.I’m sorry this will be so brief, but I’m on dial-up now and everything takes forever to upload! Here are just a few pics and a brief report of the ride on Saturday.
I know a lot of you want to know who won the Vespa LX - the winner is Dr. Lou DiNicola, a pediatrician at Gifford.
The ride brought in a total of over
Now for a few photos:
I want you to meet Gordon and Tricia, two riders from Boston who were staying at Maple Cake Farm where we were staying. Since I wasn’t able to ride, I asked Gordon if he would put my memorial placard for Shod on his motorcycle. Tricia wore Elaine’s carnation on her Harley. I really can’t thank them enough.

Since Susan and Pascal decided not to ride, Nancy rode the only scooter in the Last Mile Ride for the second year in a row, her Honda Silverwing.

Shod’s cousin Mike, on the white Goldwing, rode from Maryland to ride in the Last Mile Ride.

In my scooter news, thanks to Troy in Annapolis, I got an HT coil yesterday. Unfortunately, after I put it in, it didn’t work - so that means it’s probably the CDI.
Thank you again for all of your support!

I’m so glad you made so much money for Gifford. It just really really really really stinks that you didn’t get to ride! HUGS HUGS HUGS
Congrats of the fundraising Crystal! Despite the mechanical difficulties, the effort was a huge success!
They also serve (selflessly) who cannot ride but yet raise the most funds! GOLD STAR for your outstanding achievement, Crystal, and a HUG for consolation over your out-of-commisssion Vespa.
What Wendy said. Couldn’t have said it better.
Great job Crystal! That’s the best response I’ve ever seen from the scooter community.
You’re making a difference one mile at a time. Helmets off to you.
