pink helmets of the day: Youth sizes
Published by Crystal April 30th, 2007 in helmets, pink stuff. Why not get your kids pysched to wear a helmet at an early age? While there are quite a few youth street helmets available (and even more off-road helmets for kids), I could only find these three pink street-specific helmets widely available. Of course, all are available in other colors, too.

The AFX Youth FX-10Y is a close match to many of the pink AFX grown-up helmets. It has an MSRP of about $62, and also comes in red, blue, silver, and solids.
The HJC Youth Girl’s CS Session has an MSRP of $99 and matches the adult size CS Session. Comes in pink or powder blue.
The Vega Youth X-280 is a 3/4 helmet with an MSRP of $49.99, in bright solid pink. It also comes in solid black or red. The closest grown up 3/4 helmet is the Vega X-280.

Your posting was perfectly timed as I am upgrading my daughter’s riding gear. She is often with my on the Bajaj and is a good rider. She is ten, and finding road gear for kids is quite a challenge. I heard from a dealer that the HJC helmet was originally made for snowmobiles, and with a different visor can be adapted to road wear, which is the only reason it is available. I am going to have her try it for fit. Right now she is wearing the Vega, but I want her to have a full-face.
Fit is why I have hesitated to order over the internet for her for jackets and such. A seller called familymotorcycles.com is going out of business, and the choices are few.
My scooter is integrated into our lives as a family and I want the best protection for her I can get. If you or anyone else finds kids gear that is good quality, please let me know.
