these boots are made for riding: Icon Bombshell Boots
Published by Crystal May 9th, 2007 in apparel.
Most of the high-heeled women’s motorcycle-branded boots I’ve seen are considered “post ride” - something you put on after you’ve taken off your real boots.
The Icon Women’s Bombshell boots are an alternate choice for the inseam-challenged and/or style-conscious rider, designed for wearing as a real, genuine riding boot. I haven’t seen them in person, but customer reviews at Motosport, Motorcycle Superstore, and others are mostly on the highly positive side. The biggest complaints? The sizes are a bit off (most say order a half size up), and they aren’t comfortable for walking. But that’s not what they are for, right?
Icon Women’s Bombshell Boots at MotoSport are $170.99. Motosport has a current deal for free 2-day express shipping on orders over $100. They are retailing for $170 at Motorcycle Superstore,
and ground shipping is free. If you have the Bombshells, let me know how you like them.

Hmm…these look really nice, but don’t look very comfortable!
I agree, they don’t look comfortable to me, either.
I think perhaps Cher would love these boots.
my best friend has these boots. She claims they are super comfy but when I looked them over I was disappointed in the lack of armor for the price. She is a scooter rider so it most likely is sufficient for her, but as a sportbike rider myself (I LOVE this site though… you helped me find my pink helmet!) I’m not quite sure. Check out the blush bombshell leathers though. Uber hot
I’ve had these boots for seven months now and I love them. They dont have armour, but are significantly more padded than ANY other boots I wear when riding (Doc Martens). I actually think they are really comfy. They have great arch support and my feet dont get tired when walking in them. I would say that I wear high heels 95% of the time, so these take the prize when it comes to heeled boots/shoes.
Do they fit true to size or should i order a 1/2 size up? I wear a size 7.
Just wondering if anyone know how high the heel actually is? I’m considering ordering these boots and I need to know. I’m only 5 feet tall and have very short legs lol
Check the info on Zappos.com. I’m learning to look there whenever I want to know details about a particular pair of shoes/boots. Zappos provides almost all the specs I need on footwear, plus extremely-helpful customer reviews. (Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have figured out that for “motorcycle” boots, they need to include info about whether the boots are designed for riding or after-riding.)
P.S. I’m a different Denise from the one who says she owns these boots — they’re way too high for this Denise!
I actually purchased these boots and I like them. I am also 5′1 1/2 and they give me the height that i need. I have big calves so I usually wear a size 7 but bought a size 8 just to have calf room. I ride a Yamaha R6 and I’m comfortable riding with them. I hope this helps anyone that may have questions about these boots.
P.S., they look sexy on as well. Gotta look cute while riding!
I tried these boots on at a dealership while waiting for my bike to be serviced, I loved them! They weren’t too high (except the price) and were surprisingly comfy. I walked around the store with them on and they felt great. I’m going to get a pair from ebay ($95.00)
I would buy these boots in a heartbeat. If only they made them in my size! (Ladies size 12, that is.)
Can anyone who has bought these boots shed some light on upshifting/using the back brake/having the feet sit comfortably on the pegs/tucking in leathers with these boots. They look hot but I want to know how they are to ride in.
I rode in these all summer, and I love them. I am 5′2” and love the added height. They are COMFORTABLE to walk in - i walk 15 minutes to walk after i park my bike and these are great! I love to wear heels, but most usually hurt me by the time i get to work, these are actually pretty good.
Concerning riding though - these boots take some getting used to. If you are used to a thicker soled boot, this will be akward. I used to ride in my Merrel or Born boots (they have no armor/protection though) and the soles are much thicker. These boots are more plastic and don’t grip the best on the pegs. After some practice i found my “sweet spot” on the peg and I feel much more comfortable riding. The toe is actually quite long - which does help with shifting, but is also a bit akward if you aren’t used to it. I do feel the boots offer me protection than my regular boots, with the padding in the ankle/calves (which makes for a tight fit).
If ICON comes out with a thicker soled version I would buy them! I think these were orginally designed for a passenger, and they didn’t think about how they would do shifting, etc.
Just got these last week and SOO pleased. Walked around house for bit, just to wear them in, then rode my Ninja and they were JUST what I needed to flat-foot it (5′3″). Shifting took just a minute to figure, but I have a broken big toe and these boots helped the best yet to support/protect the toe and allow me to ride safe as well. I am not a high-heeled chic any more, as when younger, so did worry about heels/walking after riding, but NO PROBLEMS there either. I will say, however, glad I have small calves, otherwise these would be TOO tight for sure. So, would suggest, if you have bigger calves (normal size even), go a size up from your norm? Ready to meet up with all tonight at bike nite and SOO looking forward to the Joe Rocket Trixie pants to be delivered this week too. Will let all know how these fit/work too. Ride Safe!
Ever determine actual Heel Height? I am 5′-10″ and a glutton for punishment. Need to know just HOW high, to determine if I would give my husband a complex; or if im totally crazy for wanting these. Also, have heard mixed reviews about them having a thin sole. How does it wear/wear out? and are they worth the cost?
