mounting a GPS on the ET

Following ModernVespa’s GPS mounting suggestions and links, I got a GPS holder thingie for Dwayne’s etrex Legend, and put it on Rosa yesterday. First, I had to take a ride to Home Depot to try to find a smaller U-bolt. Since they didn’t have one, the ends protrude quite a bit, so I’ll look into having them cut down (where’s the dremel when you need it?). The kit comes with rubber bumper ends in the meantime; I hadn’t put them on yet when I took this photo. I also had to pad out the mirror stem since my mirror stems are smaller than the GT stems, even with the u-bolt adapter (I’m guessing with stock ET mirrors, you may not need an adapter). I also used regular nuts. Now all I have to do is try it on a ride, and see how fast my top speed really is.

In case you don’t know, the real reason Vespa owners get GPS’s is to find out how "off" our speedometers really are. Navigation, schmavigation!
