my goodbye to Vespa blogs in the news
Published by Crystal January 3rd, 2007 in news & gossip.
This morning I opened my Google Alerts to find my name in there. The ClickZ marketing-news blog did a piece called “Two Years After Launching Brand Blogs, Vespa Forgets Them.”
If you’re not a Vespaway reader, you probably hadn’t read the post I wrote when I left that gig behind last November. I’d been a volunteer blogger for them since the launch of Vespaquest and Vespaway in 2005, and after a lot of thought and discussion and a bit of angst (you can’t be a writer without some angst), I made the decision to retire myself as an official Vespa blogger.
As the article says, the blogs are still promoted on Vespa’s site. I hadn’t noticed that, but then, there’s a lot of good info on the two blogs that I’d hate to see just disappear. You can read all of each of Vespaquest and Vespaway, or just read my posts (my Vespaquest posts | my Vespaway posts). Keep in mind that if you try to comment, I no longer have access to the site controls and can’t approve them (I approved them until Vespa noticed I had retired), so post comments over here if you’d like.
Later that same day - - - - - - - - - - - -
I got a pingback from 2strokebuzz who posted on my post and other frustrations with Vespa. They note that the links on the Vespa web site to the blogs are now gone, allegedly because of the ClickZ story. I’ve kept the links up, and they’ll be up as long as the archives are there. - CW
