Genuine goes twist-n-go
Published by Crystal April 2nd, 2006 in scooters.
From the makers of the beloved Stella comes two new models of automatic twist-n-go scooters for 2006.While distinctly un-Stella-like, the new Buddy scoot is touted as a blend of retro and modern. The Genuine Buddy comes in both a 2-stroke 50cc and 4-stroke 125cc package, $1,899 and $2,499 respectively. Promised features include a lower seat height (no specs given, though), top speeds of 45 mph and 60 mph, and a color choice of charcoal (black), metallic orange, and yep, pink. The Buddy comes with a 2-year warranty.
Following in the branding footsteps of the Stella Fireball, the Black Cat is a marketing mind-meld between Genuine and Black Cat Fireworks. Even more non-Stella-ish than the Buddy, this 50cc 2-stroke is a knobby-tired “sports” scooter with a suggested retail price of $2,099, a 2-year warranty, and a top speed of 45 mph.
It’s unclear when they’ll be in showrooms, but the Black Cat press release mentions more details will become available in an “April-July 2006 timeframe.”
