please send healing thoughts to my brother Bob Waters
Published by Crystal January 17th, 2007 in riders. This post is less about scooters and more about asking for your good thoughts and wishes for my brother Bob Waters, who has been in ICU for a number of days with severe internal GI hemoraging. Right now, his prognosis is good, since they finally found the source of the bleeding yesterday and were able to (hopefully) put a permanent stop to it. Now it’s just wait and see and pray and sending good thoughts his way. I’m still waiting to hear how he’s doing today.
You’ve heard me mention “my brother Bob” more than once in the blog and in forums. He’s owner of Watersperformance.com, and the person I defer to when I have technical and mechanical scooter questions. He’s also one of my best friends. So please send a thought his way today. If you’d like to leave a comment I’ll make sure he gets it, or feel free to send me an email and I’ll forward it.
Thank you,
Crystal
P.S. Please, if you can, give blood. You never know when someone you love may need it.

My family and I send ours thoughts and prayers to your brother Bob and hope that he has a speedy recovery . My wife and I know how draining it is to see a love one in pain in ICU . Our daughter spent 5 days in PICU , it was both emotionally and physically draining on us , but we had each other for support as well as our family to lean on. Be well and have faith that Bob will home soon . Take care , Joe
Sending the strongest thoughts and prayers for a compelte recovery for Bob, Crystal. I know how distracting and overwhelming it is to experience a sibling have a health crisis. Be brave; now that they know what went wrong, I am sure Bob’s body will have the strength to recover.
I just gave blood last week, as I do 4 times a year. Do you need a donation put in Bob’s name against the blood bank use? I can arrange for that pint to be credited to him.
I am sure the whole scooter community joins me in wishing Bob a full and speedy recovery and wishing you immediate peace of mind. He’ll be OK. I know it.
Wendy
Sending prayers and good thoughts your way. This happened to my mom. It took about a day for them to find the source of the bleeding. She had to have 8 blood transfusions. She was fine. But is was scarey.
Keep us posted if you can.
I’ll post it on the ScooterDiva forum if it hasn’t been already.
Thank you all for your support and good wishes, both those who have posted here and have written off-site. As of tonight (Thursday), he is feeling a lot better, he’s out of ICU, his blood counts are good, he’s eating a bit of solid food, and may be going home as soon as tomorrow. Wendy, to answer your question, I’m not sure how to donate in a person’s name. Where would I find that information? I’ve been trying to find local blood drives, but the Red Cross site doesn’t list any in my area - very frustrating. I’m going to call my local hospital to find out if they have more information.
Thanks Jenni, for posting, I haven’t had much chance to get around the boards to talk about it and ask for good thoughts. Joe, I hope your daughter is ok now!
It’s good to hear that your brother is doing well Crystal .I hope he recovers soon and he can get back to doing what he loves .BTW, my daughter is doin well , she went back to school and is acting like a normal 13 year girl , which is enough to drive a father to exhaustion . Take care , Joe
Glad to read the good news!
Crystal - you and Bob are both in our thoughts and prayers! I hope he continues to improve and if he is not home already that he will be soon. Be sure to take care of yourself during this time too, Crystal. You can’t be the support that Bob needs if you are not healthy yourself.
Wishing you and your whole family peace and health -
Lisa
