yay for a pink Metro - but Honda, where’s the 150cc version? (again)
1 Comment Published by Crystal September 29th, 2006 in news & gossip, pink stuff.Normally, you would be hearing my whoops and hollars for miles about Honda’s new 2007 pink hibiscus Metropolitan. But to be honest, when I saw it, my first thoughts were a combination of horray and darn it, where’s the 150cc version?
Sadly, what most Honda scooter die-hards are talking about (again) is that Honda has missed […]
Vento Zipr3i front trunk - why didn’t I think of that?
1 Comment Published by Crystal September 28th, 2006 in scooters. One of the most fascinating things I saw while in Vermont was this feature on one of the Vento scooters my brother had for sale: a locking front trunk. I’d never seen a front trunk on a scooter, and it made so much sense. Bob told me the previous owner would carry a small cooler […]
One of my favorite routes in New England is a circle from central VT over to the east side, with a jaunt through Orford, NH. Since I took this, the fall colors have become even brighter.
I’ve been in Vermont for a few days, and I’ve only been able to do a bit of scootering. One reason is due to a pulled muscle in my back (I think it’s from pushing the GTS), and secondly, it’s been rainy quite a lot.
Here’s a pic from Friday - I had to pull over […]
daily stop: weather web sites
1 Comment Published by Crystal September 15th, 2006 in cold weather riding, daily stop, hot weather riding, travel & touring.I’m sitting here at my sister’s dining room table in Vermont, with the Weather Channel on TV and online, waiting for some good news about the fog and rain leaving the area so I can figure out when I can ride to the Tunbridge Worlds Fair or over to visit my brother.
Up here, the leaves […]
Well, you already know it’s here, but here it is.
There are only two things I don’t like about it:
I don’t get to keep it, and
the seat is too high.
You can read more about my first impressions and my trip to Vespa Columbia over on Vespaway.
update on the pink Icon Hooligan helmet
2 Comments Published by Crystal September 10th, 2006 in helmets, reviews. So, remember the pink Icon Hooligan helmet I got a little while ago? Well.
I did a round trip ride yesterday, of about 90 miles, to Vespa Columbia to sign papers to pick up the GTS (more on that soon, I promise!). After about an hour, the helmet seemed uncomfortable, but not unbearable. But on the […]
Pink helmets page is back up
1 Comment Published by Crystal September 9th, 2006 in helmets, news & gossip.Hey Martine! The pink helmet page is back up. The Wordpress format doesn’t have a lot of tolerance for tables, so I had to just throw the helmets all up in a long list. Enjoy!
P.S. Check out this “blush” pink Icon Hooligan over at Sandhill Powersports! Other than on ebay, Sandhill seems to have the […]
the Vespa GTS: so close, and yet so far…
1 Comment Published by Crystal September 8th, 2006 in news & gossip, scooter seat covers. If you’re a Vespaway reader, you already know that I’m finally finally finally getting a loaner GTS from VespaUSA. Ever since one of the other Vespa bloggers got a loaner scooter last year, I’ve been intermittently whining and batting my eyelashes at the Vespa marketing folks, and finally, the day arrived when my loaner was […]
new motorcycle accident statistics study?
1 Comment Published by Crystal September 5th, 2006 in accidents, safety.Deemed the first comprehensive motorcycle crash statistic report, the 1981 Hurt Report proved, among other facts, that motorists turning into the path of motorcycles, claiming not to see them, were often to blame for collisions. The report also found that it was typical for serious and fatal car-motorcycle wrecks to happen at an average […]
